I'm a new youngster (in my 50's) who's very interested in getting involved with the realistic airsoft milsim sport as a source of health and exercise. That said, I've a lot to learn regarding purchases of weapons, safety gear, etc... What makes it even more difficult is the fact I don't have one of them there money tree's, lol.
For my primary, I've settled in on getting the ICS CXP-MMR DMR. As for optics, I've not decided between getting a red dot with a flip down magnifier, a single 1-4X variable scope, or a red dot on top of a variable scope for longer range sniping capabilities. I would love to hear everyones thoughts and choices with regards to optics combinations, and decent budget optics available.
For my side arm, I'm still searching but have narrowed my search to co2 non-blowback in order to keep the overall cost down.
Safety goggles will be a challenge I believe I'll have to visit in the stores, because I wear glasses and I know how difficult glasses can be with fitting nicely inside the goggles without pushing against the goggles and distorting visibility and view.
For face protection I've settled on getting the OneTigris 6" Foldable Half Face Airsoft Mesh Mask with Ear Protection.
For head protection I'll be utilizing a scateboarders helmet modified with a diy camo cloth wrap.
Other gear will have to be visited after the above gear is obtained, and when the financial resources are built back up.
I am however, already working on a diy leafy ghillie suit. Much thanks to Point6 on YouTube for his diy ghillie suit tips and tricks. youtube.com/watch?v=EiwPoEDuW5U&list=PL2qyCDJ4STUGRAkOnpzGG918dEa23KaI3&index=2&t=271s
I would also appreciate any links to resources in regards to learning the general indoor/outdoor field rules here in the USA
Anyhow, that's where I'm at in the moment, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas.
