Here’s a good tool for teaching team members limited penetration techniques including the 45-90-45 rule off the “door” threshold. It can also be useful in teaching some dynamic and deliberate room clearing techniques, including step center. I came across this teaching tool in some literature on the internet from High Threat Systems, LLC. I did not create this training tool, I have only tweaked it a little to help address issues with the “step center” technique for people who are unfamiliar with it. Thanks to Rye Sikes at CQB Team for turning me onto High Risk Systems. Also, credit for “hips to the wall technique” goes to Eli Feildboy at Project Gecko.
To set it up, use painter’s or duct tape to mark off the near, 45o, 90o and 135o angles (45-90-45) on the floor for each door frame. You also mark off a box just inside the entry point to represent the immediate danger area inside the target room. You can also mark off a small square or cross symbol about 2 ½ feet back from the threshold and laterally centered in it. Students can then have a visual reference they can work off of while you teach and/or they practice techniques associated with each angle. The box/cross symbol can be used to help students visualize the footwork for step center.

The PTS MTEK FLUX helmet is the tangible result of a multi-year design and development effort to create an advanced, modular helmet system. The word FLUX is an acronym for Future, Lightweight, Undercut, eXpandable and is derived from latin fluxus, meaning "flow".The FLUX helmet is specifically designed to follow the natural shape of your head, so it results in increased comfort and stability, even when you wind up wearing it for hours on end or with multiple accessories attached. This goes a long way to actively reduce mental and physical fatigue, especially when you don't have time for either.Features:Matte FLUX ShellPre-installed FLUX accessory rails - M-LOK compatiblePre-installed Shroud with NVG mountIncludes a package of retention strap, shroud bungee, exterior Velcro and Velcro attachment paddingSpecification:Color Options – Black / Tan / Ranger GreenMaterial – Glass Fiber Reinforced ABSWeight – 980 grams / 34 ounces (approx.)Dimension – 285 x 235 x 170mm
